Ella's First Essay...and certainly not her last

Ella will be writing an essay for a special project this week. The content...what would it be like if Martin Luther King,Jr. Had not presented his "I Have A Dream Speech"
After reading the speech I ask for her summary. She is pretty much Spot On in understanding what the words meant...Her translation....if everyone could just leave the past, join hands and move forward...not carrying judgements along with them...
After she was through sharing all of this info with me, I was basking in the pleasure of knowing how smart, how sensitive and how enlightened this little young girl was...
Then her Mom shared with me...before you go on basking in how smart your granddaughter is and how she got all this from you...just know that as late as just last year, every night before she went to bed she thanked Jesus for Martin Luther King,Jr. because he made it possible for her (a white girl) to be able to speak to Big Daddy (a black man)

Write More....
My sanity depends on it....

I have missed my therapy...yes this is therapy...luckily I made plenty of photos on this latest detour as my good friend Lee advised and should be able to catch up....we pick up in the spring and I'll be catching you up....Lots and lots of events to cover...Mom has been with me every step of the way..and Ella....Oh my goodness. The Ella tales to be told....My work is in front of me....

Elise's Escapades

Mom's surgery on her eye went very well.....as a matter of fact you be the judge....


Surgery was Tuesday afternoon...Wednesday morning we go for post surgery look-see....as we are sitting in the examining room with the tech he has mom holding a panel over her good eye...looks at me , winks, and says...she's not going to be able to see this but let's just see....a giant S is in the mirror...

"Ms Elise, can you see that".

Mom...."P E E B L E S C L E A R AN C E O W O U T "

He says,,,,"no, there's one big letter...can you see that sweetie?".

Mom .. "You mean that big S on the wall...I thought you meant those other letters." Upon looking around the room, I noticed my purse with the Peebles Big Blowout Clearance sale brochure.

The tech turned to me and said...."I said it before last month when we did her right eye...and I'll say it again now....she is amazing!"

This surgery was on her left eye,,,,it involved a cornea scraping...she actually should not be seeing until about Friday but You All Know Mom!

So there is the update...Mom is well and ready to play golf,,,,,she has never played but I have convinced her that with her new and improved sight her game will improve,,,,,she is ready!!!!
