Sharon and David Seaton are the Owners/Innkeepers of The Fishtale Lodge at Paris Landing, Tennessee.
I met Sharon around 1999 while the Fishtale Lodge was under construction. She and David were temporarily living in a little cabin next door to my sister-in-law who kept telling me I just had to meet her crazy new neighbor and that I would just love her. Well … you know how it is sometimes when your in-laws want you to meet their friends. I put it off as long as I could.
But, once we met, we became fast friends and ever since then, I have always looked forward to seeing Sharon. There is no such thing as a “bad time” when you are around Sharon. And as crazy and looney as she seemed sometimes, it quickly became apparent that she was a savvy business woman who knew exactly what she wanted and where she was going with the Fishtale Lodge.
When Sharon first told me her Mom had Alzheimer’s I really feared the fun-loving Sharon I had always known would be changed forever. I dreaded seeing the depression take her over as I had seen with other friends whose parents had the big A. I should have known better. Sharon would rather laugh than cry and although she frequently quips about “driving a bus to hell,” --- I know there will be a special place in heaven for Sharon Seaton. And when you read her blog, you will understand why.
