MeMe has been fishing,

Rubbing shoulders,

And just hanging out in general with the big wheels this summer.  Maybe when things calm down she'll have something to post here for her loyal fans.

I have missed my therapy...yes this is therapy...luckily I made plenty of photos on this latest detour as my good friend Lee advised and should be able to catch up....we pick up in the spring and I'll be catching you up....Lots and lots of events to cover...Mom has been with me every step of the way..and Ella....Oh my goodness. The Ella tales to be told....My work is in front of me....

Elise's Escapades

Mom's surgery on her eye went very well.....as a matter of fact you be the judge....


Surgery was Tuesday afternoon...Wednesday morning we go for post surgery look-see....as we are sitting in the examining room with the tech he has mom holding a panel over her good eye...looks at me , winks, and says...she's not going to be able to see this but let's just see....a giant S is in the mirror...

"Ms Elise, can you see that".

Mom...."P E E B L E S C L E A R AN C E O W O U T "

He says,,,,"no, there's one big letter...can you see that sweetie?".

Mom .. "You mean that big S on the wall...I thought you meant those other letters." Upon looking around the room, I noticed my purse with the Peebles Big Blowout Clearance sale brochure.

The tech turned to me and said...."I said it before last month when we did her right eye...and I'll say it again now....she is amazing!"

This surgery was on her left eye,,,,it involved a cornea scraping...she actually should not be seeing until about Friday but You All Know Mom!

So there is the update...Mom is well and ready to play golf,,,,,she has never played but I have convinced her that with her new and improved sight her game will improve,,,,,she is ready!!!!

Okay....there is something to this talking to Mom......she responds, sometimes as though she really does understand what we are talking about...Other times it is as though I am wasting my breath....we might be talking about a book or photos and she will ask the most bizarre question like...is this my bracelet....do you know where my phone is.....do my shoes match????but I have realized that it's less troubling to me to answer yes it's your bracelet, your phone is on the charger(it has been there for 2 years) and yes your shoes look lovely with that outfit....rather than fuss at her or remind her that I have answered that question eleven times today....it's rather calming to just answer the question and not be angry with her....it's much less frustrating for me and takes less energy...I learn something every single day from her and the number one thing that I keep learning is that SHE IS SO MUCH FUN!

RUDE AWAKENING!

I don't know when it happened......I don't know what happened! I don't even know how it happened! ALL I KNOW IS NOW I KNOW...

I have stopped talking to Mom....I talk behind Mother, around Mother, over Mother, at Mother, beside Mother, in front of Mother...but I have stopped talking to Mom.....what a rude awakening this is...I have gotten so busy taking care of Mother that I have forgotten Mom....

Now, I know and I can change this...I just wonder when it happened and how long I have been doing this and if Mom misses me? I CERTAINLY HAVE MISSED HER!

 Back to Lowe's today to look at stain and light fixtures....oh what fun...Mom still looks for the clothing department every time we go but it doesn't take long to get her on board looking at lumber, light fixtures and rugs....she doesn't care as long as we go to McDonalds afterwards, you know, it's her favorite place to eat....well anyway, today when we left we decided to go to Burger King....I told her she was cheating on Ronald MacDonald, but, the King gives Crowns and Gift Boxes.....she may convert...

David has been crappie fishing lately getting meat for the freezer...Today he got off without his phone....Mom and I delivered..she got into the boat and said Let's Go! On the way home...she said ..."I see why you like to fish so much...that was a lot of fun...and did I catch fish?". I said you sure did...enough to feed the community...tommorrow I'm going to let her fly a kite!
